MEETING TIMES/LOCATIONS

Bi-City Woodturners meet on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Columbus Technical College, 928 Manchester Expressway, Columbus, GA.  Other meeting times and places happen periodically and are annouced on our FaceBook page

Most monthly meetings involve a demonstration from one of the members focusing on techniques, styles, or tools. Other meetings during the year may feature visiting professional turners.  These sessions may require addition ‘Cover Charge’ to cover increased costs.

During meetings we have brief ‘business’ stuff (you know) followed by a wood raffle then Show N’ Tell.  The Club store is always open for purchasing those glue & sand paper supplies we all need :)

Suggestions for demonstrations or discussion topics are ALWAYS appreciated. We encourage any of the many talented turners in the club to volunteer by putting on a short demo for the members. Please share the knowledge and skills that you have. We know that everyone in the club has something of value to offer. If anyone knows of a club member who has a hidden talent, please encourage that person to come forth and share.

In addition, the club holds weekly mentoring program on Mondays to assist new members. These meetings are held at Dawson McLemore’s shop in Fortson, GA, about 10 miles north of Columbus (see map below).

Sessions are held most Mondays from around 10 AM until mid-afternoon. It is suggested that you call Dawson (706-322-7111) before coming out because sessions are occasionally cancelled. Most Mondays, one of the members will grill a gourmet meal (hot dogs, hamburgers, or occasionally barbecue) served on first quality paper plates. The cost is $3.00. If you need help, want to give help, or just hang out with a bunch of woodturners, come on out.
