Bi-City Woodturners meet on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Columbus Technical College, 928 Manchester Expressway, Columbus, GA.

Most monthly meetings involve a demonstration from one of the members focusing on techniques, styles, or tools. Several all-day meetings are scheduled throughout the year featuring professional turners.

In addition, the club holds weekly mentoring program on Mondays to assist new members. These meetings are held at president Dawson McLemore’s shop in Fortson, GA, about 10 miles north of Columbus.

About once a month at the Monday session we host a group of “Wounded Warriors” from the rehab brigade at Fort Benning. These soldiers are recovering from battle or training injuries. With the help of members they are able to turn a pen, pencil or small bowl and take it back with them when the day is over.

Sessions are held most Mondays from around 10 AM until mid-afternoon. It is suggested that you call Dawson (706-322-7111) before coming out because sessions are occasionally cancelled. Most Mondays, one of the members will grill a gourmet meal (hot dogs, hamburgers, or occasionally barbecue) served on first quality paper plates. The cost is $3.00. If you need help, want to give help, or just hang out with a bunch of woodturners, come on out.
